ABOUT DOGHAUS
Founded by Art Director and Digital Artist Josh Martens, Doghaus Creative Imaging is a high-end retouching company dedicated to collaborating with photographers and creative teams.
Josh was born in Newport, RI and now resides in the creative community of Portland, ME. Early in college he worked full time as an Art Director and later found a love for retouching. He has worked with companies such as Pepsi, Kimberly Clarke, Unilever, and the NFL to name a few. Retouching not only requires experience (Josh has 10+ years in the biz), but an innate appreciation for art, and the discernment that allows for enhancing an image while maintaining the original integrity and motivation it’s creators intended.
While Photoshop is where he spends most of his time some say Josh has a knack for creative strategy, art direction, whitty campaigns, and connecting with clients on a human level. In addition, consultation for pre and post-production is available to help achieve the ideal vision of a project.

Want to see what goes into making an image go from good to great? Check out a collection of before and after slides to see for yourself. It’s a great way to understand exactly how much work there actually is behind the final image. Each industry of photography has it’s own challenges when it comes to retouching. Sometimes it takes a heavy hand while other times a gentle precise touch is all that’s needed. Doghaus is known for working with it’s creative partners to help bring their goals and vision through production.
